Natalie Hill, RD, LD, presents “Pediatric SCD – Successful Implementation of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet in Children” at the SCDROCKS Conference 2023, hosted by the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association (SCDA) at Bellevue College.
In this informative and practical presentation, Natalie discusses how the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) can be successfully implemented in pediatric populations to support children with gastrointestinal disorders and chronic digestive disease.
Natalie is a registered and licensed pediatric dietitian who has been with GI Care for Kids and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta since the beginning of her career, providing both inpatient and outpatient GI nutrition services.
Her clinical work supports children with a wide range of diagnoses, including Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Celiac disease, food allergies, and feeding difficulties.
Natalie’s professional focus is deeply informed by lived experience. She was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in early high school and, after trialing multiple medications, turned to dietary intervention to help manage her condition. Through the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, Natalie has successfully managed her disease, which inspired her to pursue a career in nutrition and dedicate her work to helping children and families navigate complex GI conditions with evidence-informed, individualized care.
Natalie earned her degree in Nutrition Dietetics from Auburn University and completed her dietetic internship at The Ohio State University. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys cooking, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her fiancé, family, and friends.
