Dr. Christine Bowen, ND, FABNG, presents “IBD-Related Conditions and Considerations” at the SCDROCKS Conference 2023, hosted by the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association (SCDA) at Bellevue College.
In this clinically grounded presentation, Dr. Bowen explores common Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)–related conditions and the role that nutrition particularly the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) can play in supporting digestive health and overall balance.
Dr. Bowen has decades of personal and professional experience managing gut imbalance, autoimmune disease, and complex health cases. She holds a Board Fellowship in Naturopathic Gastroenterology (FABNG) a distinction held by only a small number of practitioners worldwide and is also Mold-Literate Certified. Her clinical work emphasizes restoring digestive function through nutrition and individualized, holistic approaches.
Dr. Christine Bowen practices at Bothell Natural Health in Washington, where she specializes in helping patients with challenging and multifactorial conditions. She has taught both patients and practitioners about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet for many years and believes nutrition should be a first-line therapy whenever possible, with supplements, medications, and diagnostic testing considered only after dietary foundations have been properly addressed.
Dr. Bowen spearheaded the launch of the Inside Health Institute, designed to provide accessible, comprehensive holistic treatment and support under one roof. She has been in clinical practice since 2007, is a Northwest native, and is a 2005 graduate of Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. Dr. Bowen brings a depth of clinical insight and practical experience to this presentation, offering valuable perspective for individuals navigating IBD and related conditions.
