DR. ERIC VASILIAUSKAS PRESENTATIONS

“Creating the Foundation for My Child to Succeed: Navigating Child to Adulthood Transitions, including the Medical & Educations Systems”    

Dr. Eric Vasiliauskas presents Creating the Foundation for My Child to Succeed with the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) at the SCDROCKS Conference, hosted by the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association (SCDA).  


In this presentation, Dr. Vasiliauskas discusses how families can build a strong foundation to support children following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet as they transition from childhood into adolescence and adulthood. The talk explores practical considerations for navigating medical systems, educational systems, and long-term care planning, with a focus on continuity, independence, and success.  


Dr. Vasiliauskas is the Director of the Cedars-Sinai Nutrition & Integrative IBD Multidisciplinary Subspecialty Program and a Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA School of Medicine. He is one of the few gastroenterologists in the United States licensed to treat both pediatric and adult patients.  


An internationally recognized expert in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Dr. Vasiliauskas has long emphasized the importance of identifying subgroups within Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. His work highlights how individualized differences influence disease expression, progression, and response to therapies—including dietary approaches such as the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. He is a strong proponent of personalized medicine and individualized care in IBD.

Dr. Eric Vasiliauskas presents Food as Medicine: Therapeutic Nutrition Strategies in IBD at the SCDROCKS Conference, hosted by the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association (SCDA).  


In this presentation, Dr. Vasiliauskas discusses the role of therapeutic nutrition in the context of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and explores how dietary approaches, including the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), may be considered as part of a comprehensive, individualized care strategy.  


Dr. Eric Vasiliauskas, MD, is Associate Clinical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Cedars-Sinai, Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and a member of the F. Widjaja Foundation Inflammatory Bowel and Immunobiology Research Institute. He is one of the few gastroenterologists in the United States who treats both pediatric and adult patients with IBD.

Dr. Eric Vasiliauskas (DrV) presents Beyond Medication: Integrating Complementary Strategies to Enhance Wellness in IBD at the SCDROCKS Conference, hosted by the Specific Carbohydrate Diet Association (SCDA).  


In this presentation, Dr. Vasiliauskas discusses how complementary, lifestyle-based strategies—including nutrition and approaches such as the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)—may be thoughtfully integrated alongside conventional medical care for individuals living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The talk emphasizes individualized care, patient engagement, and wellness-oriented perspectives.  


Dr. Eric Vasiliauskas, MD, is Associate Clinical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Cedars-Sinai and Associate Professor of Medicine & Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is also a member of the F. Widjaja Foundation Inflammatory Bowel and Immunobiology Research Institute and has extensive experience caring for both pediatric and adult IBD patients.
